City Neighbors is a Public Charter School in the city of Baltimore. Located in a residential, urban type community in the Northeast corner of the city. The diverse K-7 student population totals 176. We provide an Arts Integrated, Project-based curriculum that promotes developmentally and culturally appropriate practices and provides for individualized and cooperative learning experiences, inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach.
Dedicated to Project-based Learning, our program includes Balanced Reading, Everyday Math, Arts Integration, Music, PE, and Foss Science. The successful candidates will possess proper certification from the State of Maryland or be eligible for same and credentials that demonstrate a high level of education/experience. Salary TBD/ commensurate with experience. Generous benefits package. Screening will begin in late March 2006.
CNCS opened with 120 students from K-5 and will expand by one grade each year to 8th grade. There are 22 children in each classroom. Currently our demographics are 53% African-American, and 47% non-African-American. We celebrate the richness of our racial, economic and cultural diversity.
